About Jennifer Patterson and Matt Samuel

Jennifer Jeanne Patterson is the author of the memoir, 52
Fights: A Newlywed’s Confession (Penguin/Berkley Trade,
June 2005) and writes a syndicated column called
Newlyweds. Her memoir has been widely praised in the
press. This spring, ABC/Touchstone Television shot a pilot
of her memoir, starring Christine Taylor and Matt Letscher.

Jennifer and her husband, Matt, have appeared on numerous
television programs, including Fox Morning News in Chicago,
Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Milwaukee, the CBS Morning
News in Baltimore, and on Al Gore’s national network, Current
TV. Additionally, they’ve been featured in several publications,
including The New York Daily News, The Chicago Tribune,
Town & Country Magazine, and The Arizona Republic.
Jennifer has been quoted as a newlywed expert in
publications such as Details magazine and Men’s Journal.

Mathias W. Samuel is the other half of Newlyweds. He grew up
in Fargo, North Dakota. He is a partner with the law firm of
Fish & Richardson P.C., where he practices high technology
law.

In 2002, Matt was named one of the top 40 Twin Cities’
professionals under the age of 40 by The Business Journal,
